hi, sweet friend.

I used to think I wanted to change the world, but I’ve changed my mind. I’d much rather just change one heart. So, to you, sweet soul, this space is for you. No matter who you are, no matter where you’ve been, this space is for you. You matter here.

I love too many things about this devotional: from the words to the writers, to the beautiful blue colors. Written by a diverse selection of gifted women, I finish each day wanting more. I’m a storyteller by nature, and I love connecting with others and with God through stories. Each day I read “A Moment to Breathe,” I see God showing up in the stories these women breathed onto paper. Breathing has become a symbolic act, an important part, and a holy mantra for me. When I breathe, I’m reminded of God’s love for me, and when my anxiety flares and I have to take deep breaths, it’s a gentle reminder of peace and grace.

My favorite part, though, is the bottom of each page, where each writer offers “A Moment to Breathe” for each day, sweet reassurances that the world will keep turning, God is still sovereign, and simple reminders to ponder on for that day.

Also, confession: I’ve been reading about two a day, instead of just one #noshame.
